A few words about the Chateau de Vaux le Vicomte

The Chateau de Vaux le Vicomte was built in the 17th century by Nicolas Fouquet. He surrounded himself with the best artists to build this breathtaking domain. This castle inspired many other castles, and notably not other than the Chateau de Versailles.
After a series of scandalous twists and turns, the castle was abandoned for over 50 years, almost leading to its demolition. In 1875, Alfred Sommelier bought the estate and completely renovated it. To this day, the Chateau de Vaux le Vicomte still belongs to the Sommelier family.
The estate includes the Chateau itself with its luxurious and extravagant interiors as well as acres and acres of lovely gardens, perfectly maintained through the centuries.

How to access the Chateau de Vaux le Vicomte for my Wedding guests?

The Chateau de Vaux le Vicomte, located 50 minutes from Paris, is accessible by car. You can book shuttles or taxis from Paris.
For a quick trip, for a couple session for example, you can use the fastest vehicle: an helicopter! I have done it twice in the past to get there in 20 minutes and I will say it was quite impressive to land in the gardens of the Chateau. Makes for great photos!

How many guests can the Chateau de Vaux le Vicomte accommodate?

Inside, the number of guests varies according to the salons, but the Grand Salon can accommodate up to 250 guests. For the ceremony, I recommend that it takes place in the beautiful French gardens. But if you want an indoor ceremony, the ceremonial room, which has been restored to its former opulent architecture, is ideal for an intimate ceremony. You can also plan to have a tent in the garden to host more guests for your wedding at Château de Vaux le Vicomte.
