Often I am asked as a photographer in Paris, which location I prefer for photos. It is so complicated to say as the city offers so many options especially for an engagement shoot. You can of course decide to capture the iconic monuments like the Eiffel Tower or Musee du Louvre. But to me as a local, nothing says Paris like a cafe. If you never been to Paris you could think that what you see in movies or commercials are made up, cliches, made for tourists. You would be wrong: cafes are truly part of our daily life. This is where we eat of course, but also where we meet our friends, we grab an “Aperitif” drink after work, where we do people watching with our best friend to check the latest trends, meet for a first date, break up, and of course make out.

Taking photos during your engagement shoot at a Cafe to me is the most Parisian thing you could do. It makes for the most romantic photos. Plus it doesn’t hurt to take a little break, warm up with a hot chocolate like during this winter shoot with Nesa and Joe.

For this couple who looks straight out of a movie, it was actually their anniversary. Paris has always been special to them and stopping at a cafe for photos was the best way to capture the essence of the city.
