The time is coming! The lavenders are starting to grow, I can almost smell their sweet perfume. This typical Provencal plant with its purple color and intoxicating scent is starting to appear in the Provencal fields, accompanied by the song of the cicadas. These fields are the perfect setting for a photo shoot in Provence, as a couple, with family or alone. I don’t want to brag but I know one of the best places in the lavender fields for a photo shoot, so contact me if you want a pre-wedding shoot there!
When to plan your pre-wedding shoot in the lavender fields in Provence?
The best (if not the only) time to do a pre-wedding shoot in the lavender fields are between June and July. These Provencal plants bloom from mid-June to early July and are then harvested. So if you want to enjoy the good smell and the beauty of lavender for your shoot don’t wait to book me!
Where to stay for a pre-wedding shooting in the lavender fields?
Although it is said that lavender is a plant of the south, it is actually a plant of Provence. The most beautiful lavender spots are around the villages of Valensole, Sault and Gordes. I recommend you to stay in these villages or in the nearby towns, from Aix en Provence to Avignon.
If you want to stay in a big and very French city in Provence, I recommend you Aix en Provence, Avignon or Arles!
How to dress for a pre-wedding shoot in the lavenders?
Of course, it’s up to you, but if you want to look Provençal, I advise you to wear a long colored or beige dress, maybe linen, with a straw hat, wedge espadrilles (be careful not to wear stilettos or you will sink into the ground). And if you want to push the look to the end, I advise you to buy a straw basket, you will find it on all the Provencal markets, put some flowers in it and you’re done.
You can also contrast the nature and rural side of the lavender field with a glamorous and chic dress, like for this shoot!

How to get to the lavender fields for a pre-wedding shooting ?
Yes, even Uber has its limits. The lavender fields are not accessible by cab or uber. I advise you to rent a car to get there. But believe me, the sunset on the lavender fields is worth the effort.
